If you are serious about saving Electricity around the home, there are quite a few options which will give you real power saving results.

Upgrade your Lighting

Most of you should already know that simply changing your old incandescent bulbs to flourescents will reduce your lighting costs by up to 80%.

But most do not know that with advances in LED based technology – you can also replace all your modern halogen downlight bulbs with energy efficient LED Replacement Bulbs – which not only lasts longer, produces alot less heat, but also significantly reduces your power usage. What else can you do?

  • Switch to solar water
  • Drop your aircon heating by a degree

    Also you can switch off your refrigerators when not in use. For example you don’t use your refrigerator between 12 PM and 6 AM, you can set a timer to turn it off. It’s better to use a digital one because you can set it to turn on for 15 minutes in between those 6 hours and will keep your fridge on its working temperature.
